Curves in Qobustan

A night out at the mud volcanoes in Qobustan and I spied this little pool behind the volcanoes. Almost perfectly still conditions led to stunning reflections. The tighter crop rather than a wide angle lens helps to accentuate the curves. We forget that the stars are not white, they burn all manner of colours due to their chemistry.

This is a superb dark sky location on a warm still spring night, one of the best nights under the stars I have had in Azerbaijan!!
