Moonlight Over Cap de Formentor
A family holiday in Majorca and an early morning trip for sunrise to Cap de Formentor. The conditions kept changing, clouds rolling in and out, changing in minutes from solid cloud to clear and back again. As I had woken ridiculously early when I arrived the stars were still visible and I was greeted by Orion and Betelgeuse rising over the hillside.
The crescent moon was impossible to capture within the dynamic range of the scene from the dark landscape to the stars and moon. However for a few moments the clouds lit up.
This moment taken nearly 90 minutes before sunrise captures the crescent moon with venus rising over the lighthouse in the distance, with Orion and Betelgeuse rising over the hillside and watch tower. Well worth waking up at 0430 for!!
