Absolutely freezing but clear crisp skies made for superb milky way photography out on Romney March. The classic St Thomas a Beckett church is an iconic location I've long wanted to visit. So fuelled by coffee and wrapped up like an eskimo I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours under the stars here. It's a bit of a shame about the farm security lights glaring out on the edge of what is othershise a stunning dark sky site.
There has been a structure on this site since 1200AD, 800 years, which pales into insignificance against the 27,000 years it has taken the light from the galactic centre to reach us before it entered my camera on Saturday morning!
