Safe Landing at Sólheimasandur

One of the most surreal things to find lying on the black sand landscape of Southern Iceland. The remains of a 1973 crashed DC-3 at Sólheimasandur, thankfully everyone survived but the plane wreck has been lying here for over 50 years as an iconic location to visit. The 1 hour trek across the gravel was utterly silent and peaceful, and an amazing sight as the plane slowly comes into view.
