I had wanted to try a moonset shot at Stonehenge for some time, the timing of moonset and sunrise, a forecast of clear skies and potential mist persuaded me this would be worth the early wake up call. I wanted a longer focal length and a big moon behind the stones but the heavy mist and lay of the land put paid to that.
As the moon dropped over the stones, the sky turned through purples and pinks and the stones almost glowed in the twilight. Perfectly positioned here for just a few seconds over the centre of the stones was quite special to watch.
